There are many different ways to highlight and define your art using GIMP. I use a few different methods depending on the look I am trying to achieve. You can, create a new layer, and change the mode to either, dodge, screen, overlay, or normal. This is the most common way to do basic highlights on your art. You can use different tools, sparkle brushes, airbrush, skin brushes, hair brushes, ect..... The most popular way right now to highlight for second life and imvu avatars is by using the burn tool (Youtube Video Will be attached along with some sparkle brushes you can download). The burn tool, must be used directly onto the image, you CANNOT create a new layer and use it. To be safe, always *Duplicate* your original image (as seen in video) . Why? In case you mess something up or dont like what youve done, you always have the original copy and havent wasted hours and hours of editing time ♥ included below are sparkle brushes, a youtube video on how to download brushes onto GIMP, and my Tutorial on how to use these different methods of highlighting ! Thank you!
